I almost drowned this past weekend.
Like, at least 4 times.
But it was worth it. This July 4th weekend was one of the best weekends I've had.
Ever.
It was mostly due to the stellar team work of the Three Amigos of Team ProPhoto (www.prophotosunvalley.com) and also partly to do with the ridiculously fun nature of the events we got to document over the course of 3 days in the Hamptons.
Los Tres Amigos
Clam bakes, relay races, pool games, German Polka bands, Journey cover bands, stage diving, dancing, theme nites, and a fantastic gathering of people all combined to make an already stellar weekend even better.
My job specifically was to capture moments... those "special moments" during the course of the three days. Grip and grins, candids, action shots, dancing shots, kids at play, underwater shots (where I nearly met my end)... These were moments that we all captured beautifully, if I do say so myself.
The 3 day event was only half the fun though. We Three Amigos had lots and lots of travel time together. In the following video, Matt explains a the beginning portion of our travels...

After B&H, we drove from NYC all the way to Montauk, otherwise known as "The End". It truly is the end of Long Island. If you went any further, you'd practically be in England.
Well, you'd be kind of close to somewhat there.
Probably not.
Things we realized during our travels: Matt can fall asleep at the drop of a hat as long as he is horizontal, Michele doesn't sleep when on assignment, Joey hallucinates and has vivid visions of non-existent architecture while driving late at nite (I swear I saw a red lake house with a green roof and a candle flickering in the window in the middle of Sunrise Highway), Polka bands can actually be a lot of fun, lobster bibs can double as tablecloths for the car, older women LOVE dancing with Matt, and knowing friends who work at a deli allows you to get a sweet deal on lunch. (Thanks to all my amigos at Ferrings.)
Next weekend I am flying down to Texas to photograph my friend Phil's wedding.
More on that as it develops.
For now, I salute my fellow amigos, and would like to leave you all with a song.
Ciao...
